Full Version: Dogging and dead spamming.

In a previous post there was off topic replys about the all-nighter

Just to clarify this.

There was nothing said about dead spamming, This is just a way to play the game, regardless weather it takes skill or not, not everyone playing was as skilled as others. Remember an all-nighter is not a member only event.

I did how ever state to people not to dog other players, this was specified a couple of times. If you were people were not paying attention then its there own ignorance that is at fault, Generaly if you deactivate someone 3 or 4 times in a row and they are trying to get away from you, you are dogging them. On members nights and members only events the case would be different as we know how to get out of those situations. You cant expect a player who has little experience to know exactly when their pack is turning back on.

The allnighter tournament was for everyone, not just for members. It would be a shame to see a member dog a weaker player and put them off playing again, thats not how to build a community.

Who said dodging & Dead Spamming was not allowed on the night?

The reason i ask, is that ive never known dodging to be disallowed, maybe laughable when done poorly, but not in the same catergoury as pack covering, causing it to be classed as cheating. Dead Spamming is a type of player, its not a rule, but the difference between a good player or a beginner, because it don't take much to spam a dead player. If someone is dead spamming, then they are not a good sportsman, and there making points cheaply.

Sounds fair to me.

me too
Scarecrow
Rayleigh has a rule that 'No following weaker players' which is all fine and well...except public don't now the difference between 'following' and 'taking shortcuts to wait in ambush' tongue.gif
Dogging though....I am well up for that....the empty car-parks, the flash of the camera bulbs, the previously undiscovered STD's....pipe or clam....it's all good ohmy.gif
R4IDER
Its funny sometimes when a beginner player trys to make a dash for it, and just runs around the out side of the arena, and then you bump back in to the player 30 seconds later because you walked across the arena, lol. smile.gif
Anima
i know i used to do that a hell of a lot. The pressure taught me random movements

then i developed the 'ring around the rosies' that confuses the more experienced members... tongue.gif

so far ive managed to get the following with my ring around the rosies, as memory serves
FIRESTARTER
XFILE
Rocky
R@ider
Deadman
Ch@os

not bad for pratting around lol
R4IDER
Haha you crafty devil. Right, note to self, watch out for Anima's "ring around the roses © ANIMA 2006" smile.gif , if detected, proceed with battle plan "TAGGER FURY, TAG TILL DEAD or TAG TILL WORD MERSEY © R@IDER 2006". laugh.gif
Anima
you gotta find and catch me first tongue.gif
Diablos
in regards to Ch@os' post about tagging and deadspamming;

I try my hardest not to do this as I prefer to test myself against the better players anyway, but I find that once you become known as a top player people start to look out for you in the arena in hope that they will mess up your score....

I hate to see other players chasing people around but I have a counter to that arguement. Ok, this happened a few times now; I shoot a weaker player and think 'Man, I'm not just gona sit here and tag you up up, its not fair' only to (once I have moved on) get shot in the back by the same player then have them follow me around for the next couple of mins.

Thats what happened with them new members last Sunday and I just got pasted by them...

My score card said I was dogging them but if they wont leave me alone what else am I ment to do?

Stop whining about the plebs and just try to avoid them dude, they'll know there position in the arena after a while. I hope this dont offend you either but i thought u were one of leicesters best players? and you end up getting owned by plebs on your own system?unsure.gif Anyway, the plebs will realise that they're gaining no experience in game play, trust me i can name one or two lol

regards,
Anima
yeah sorry about that nightfire we let one of our plebs escape to MZAG...

oh and loathing myself for talking about hardware i feel the need to clarify something:

is it me or was T2 designed to be pleb friendly? Dead spamming is such a problem on T2 cause the pack usually activates before the phasor, so before you have a chance to get a shot off your already dead again. Thats why dead spammers are universally hated at leicester, and that coupled with the fact they think they are good because of it just puts the icing on the fist thats about to send them into next year.... mad.gif

a prime example: a group of about 4 kids turned up to our members night this sunday just gone, and jesus christ they were the worst case of dead spammers ive ever seen! They thought they ruled too! F***in kids.... to top it off they seemed to think jumping actually AT people was clever and made them looked 'experienced'. Twice i had to move to prevent a kid impaling himelf on my phasor, and another time i have to almost dive to stop him rearranging his features on my packs front. All three times i got shot in the process... I swear i was this close to reporting the little blighters.... wouldn't mind but you gotta be careful what you do, just cause they don't care about their own safety doesnt mean you wont get banned for "making them stop"!

Anima, try having a one on one with someone who thinks they are so brilliant that they pack cover like hell and shake about infront of ya like they're spazin out lol then the get shot to bits from a far and think your following them.. you just point and laugh laugh.gif
Anima

Not whining mate, I get stuck in a viscious circle whereby these kids see a photo of me and say 'hey is that you over there on those photos?' We all have a laugh about it and think nothing off it. I think Anima in the process said 'yeah hes the best one here' I'm like damn right!'. So for the next 2 hours I got 4 kids running around after me, Dave shouting 'I know what you were doing; you were stalking them kids for points'. I'm like no the little shits have followed me around for 2 hours thinking if they tag me up they are then the best.

I mean do I continue to defend myself and stop getting shot in the back by them but have dave accuse me of kiddie tagging, or not defend myself and 'end up getting owned by plebs on your own system'. Its a no win situation. In the end I just had to go with it, defend myself and actually run away from scoring too many points off the kids but have to keep up with the contenders for points...
Anima
at the end of the day if you wanna rule you gotta stop thinking 'people' when you walk in the arena and start thinking 'points', that stops little things like pity clogging your killing spree up lol

Very true Anima, and well put, while making it sound funny. smile.gif

Nightfire in Diablos defence these kids turned up on sunday out of the blue, and they made there presense known for sure. They must have been six 10 to 12 years old, and a couple of them were really working the floor with some impressive styles of there own. They were pulling some very fast moves, and their style was very aggressive, and they were playing there way, and f**k every one else basicly. Seems they were use to party games with easy competition, but with there fast dead spamming & speedy moves they were good competition, and for juniors top grade. I think they realised that we were no push overs after five minutes, but for the first five minutes we were a little shell shocked, specially when i sore the best one moving around the corner at lightning speed, pull a 360 degrees spin while tagging people spam style, followed by a zone back plate gride along the wall. ohmy.gif

Nightfire trust me man, if you find soul a handful because he drops below your arms, your going to love these guys, they play fast & hard wink.gif

Diablos, im sorry, i don't remember shouting alot about shooting the kids, but i take it back & I appologise for any bad feelings made.

Hey Anima, you play, you pay! wink.gif

Be a contender in the arena, shake hands as you leave the arena, and leave the competitive tension for the next game in the arena.
